We take the view that one active ingredient in isolation will not be as effective as a combination of specific, carefully chosen ingredients which compliment each other. Consequently, a very intensive and complicated formulation programme is tried and tested in order to ensure that all the ingredients work synergetically with each other and that they have the highest quality and safety standards in line with European regulations. In addition, test such as those for bacteria, chemical and thermal stability and determination of shelf life together with other appropriate test are carried out. When all of the test have been carried out and completed, the products are sent to a test group for feedback. Only when we are fully satisfied that our products are effective and of the highest quality do we bring them to market.

• Our sprays are CE marked as a Class 1 Medical Device by the Medical Device Agency, Dept. of Health (Salcura sprays are however NOT a pharmaceutical-medical product)
  
• Our products are totally free from steroids, cortisones, alcohol, antibiotics, parabens and peroxides.
  
• A controlled dermatological clinical study in volunteers versus placebo showed good tolerance and no reference for allergic potential of topical side effects, known as Epicutan test.

Each product has different carefully chosen ingredients such as natural oils, vitamins, minerals, agents and carriers, all of which are used in various proportions to form a colloidal solution. The advantage of a colloidal solution over creams, dusting powders, ointments and pastes is that it allows a naturally regulated and balanced absorption, a naturally regulated balanced distribution and a naturally regulated balanced action of all vital and active ingredients.

It is crucial that the active ingredients are made available to the skin in the most effective way and research has shown that a colloidal solution is more beneficial in this respect than traditional creams and ointments. By penetrating the pores of the skin, working down through various layers of the skin and then back up to the surface by osmosis, the active ingredients in our sprays are immediatly bioavailable and consequently are extremely effective.
